The City of Sherman, Texas

Named after a decorated hero of the Texas Revolution, General Sidney Sherman, the city of Sherman is now home to a population nearing 40,000. Sherman has a plethora of deep roots and history of events to leave history buffs clamoring to learn and retrieve more information about the long-standing treasure and gem of North Texas when visiting the Sherman Museum. Designated at the county seat for Grayson County, Sherman was incorporated by law as a Texas town in 1850. Sherman was best known for a deep history of providing main thoroughfare to various cities for travelers and locals via Red River and Butterfield Trails.
